IND™ Dry Chemical Fire Suppression System
Automatic Protection for Industrial and Hazardous Process Applications
The IND™ Dry Chemical System is a pre-engineered fire suppression system designed to protect industrial processes, equipment, and facilities where flammable liquids, combustible materials, or hazardous operations are present.
From paint spray booths to machinery spaces and hazardous material storage, industrial environments present elevated fire risk. The IND™ system automatically detects and suppresses fire, often within seconds, helping protect personnel, property, and production continuity.
Available in both local application and total flooding configurations, the IND™ system provides flexible, code-compliant fire protection for a wide range of industrial hazards.

Applications
The IND™ Dry Chemical System is commonly used to protect:
- Paint spray booths
- Paint mixing areas
- Coating operations
- Boiler and furnace rooms
- Machinery spaces
- Flammable liquid storage areas
- Bulk storage facilities
- Electrical and mechanical rooms
- Environmental storage facilities
- Quench and dip tanks
- Spill containment dikes
- Modular hazardous material storage facilities
The system is particularly well-suited for vehicle refinishing and industrial paint applications, where flammable vapors and materials present elevated fire risk.

How the IND™ System Works
Fire detectors sense heat in the work area, plenum, or duct and send a signal to the control panel. The system may also be manually activated via a remote pull station.
The XV Control System actuates the pressurized agent storage containers, shuts down fuel and electrical power sources, and activates the local or building fire alarm.
The XV Control System simultaneously shuts down the paint supply and airflow within the protected hazard area where applicable.
Dry chemical agent is discharged through fixed piping and nozzles into the protected area to suppress the fire.
Dry chemical provides rapid flame knockdown and helps reduce the potential for re-ignition.
Designed for Industrial Continuity
Production shutdowns due to fire can result in significant operational and financial losses. The IND™ Dry Chemical System provides fast-acting, automatic suppression to help limit fire spread and reduce downtime in high-risk environments.
Installed and maintained by factory-authorized KiddeFenwal distributors, each system is engineered to meet the specific needs of the protected facility.
